Silchester Farm Wedding

Wedding

Athan & Amy’s Silchester Farm Wedding

Athan & Amys summer wedding at Silchester Farm was just awesome to capture.  A cool couple, great colour pallet & all round brilliant laid back vibe.

My first wedding at Silchester Farm was way back in 2017, long before it was even a licensed venue.  Friends of the owners I think.  So good to be back & see how its been developed into one of my favourite rustic venues of Berkshire.

The day itself couldn’t have gone better.  The September sun was lovely to work with & aided with the speeches beautifully.

Here’s there story.

If you’re interested in working with me for your Silchester Farm wedding, you can check if i’m available here.

Relaxed Wedding Photography at Silchester Farm: Capturing Natural Moments and Authentic Joy

Silchester Farm, nestled in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, is the perfect venue for couples seeking a laid-back, yet elegant wedding. Known for its stunning natural beauty, rustic charm, and sophisticated barns, Silchester Farm creates an atmosphere that is both tranquil and stylish. For couples who prefer a more relaxed approach to their wedding day, this venue is a dream location for capturing authentic, candid moments through relaxed wedding photography.

A Venue Designed for Comfort and Joy

Silchester Farm is designed with a seamless blend of rustic charm and modern comforts, making it the perfect backdrop for a relaxed wedding day. The venue’s beautifully restored barns, lush gardens, and expansive fields all contribute to an easy-going, welcoming atmosphere. This sense of comfort and ease naturally extends into the photography, allowing the couple and their guests to feel more at home, and as a result, more relaxed in front of the camera.

For photographers, this relaxed vibe offers the opportunity to focus on capturing candid moments. Rather than staged poses or formal portraits, relaxed wedding photography at Silchester Farm emphasizes the authentic connections between people. Whether it’s the bride and groom laughing together during the ceremony, guests chatting in the courtyard, or the joyful moments during the reception, Silchester Farm’s warm, inviting setting helps everyone let their guard down, leading to natural, unposed photos.

Capturing Candid Moments in the Great Outdoors

One of the highlights of Silchester Farm is its expansive outdoor spaces, which provide stunning settings for relaxed, natural wedding photography. The farm’s 400 acres of countryside are dotted with scenic locations perfect for capturing candid shots of the couple and their guests enjoying the day. The beautifully landscaped gardens, rustic barns, and tranquil meadows all offer opportunities to capture moments of genuine emotion against the backdrop of nature’s beauty.

The orchard at Silchester Farm is particularly enchanting, with rows of trees providing a serene, intimate space for capturing unposed couple portraits. Photographers can use this space to photograph the couple taking a quiet stroll or simply enjoying a peaceful moment together. The farm’s rolling fields and meadows also offer endless opportunities for relaxed, outdoor shots. Whether the couple is walking hand in hand through the fields or guests are playing lawn games during the reception, these candid moments unfold naturally in Silchester Farm’s wide-open spaces.

Natural Light for Beautiful, Authentic Photos

One of the key elements of relaxed wedding photography is the use of natural light, and Silchester Farm offers this in abundance. The venue’s large windows, open barn spaces, and outdoor settings are bathed in soft, flattering light, perfect for creating beautiful, natural-looking images. Whether it’s the gentle morning light streaming into the barns or the golden glow of sunset over the fields, natural light enhances the authenticity and beauty of the photos.

Golden hour, in particular, is a magical time at Silchester Farm. The rolling countryside and open skies make for a stunning backdrop as the sun sets, casting a warm, romantic glow over the entire scene. Photographers can capture some of the most relaxed and intimate moments during this time, as the couple enjoys the calm of the evening with the golden light creating a dreamy atmosphere.

Telling the Story of the Day

Relaxed wedding photography is all about storytelling—capturing the essence of the day as it naturally unfolds. At Silchester Farm, the combination of scenic beauty and a laid-back atmosphere allows photographers to document the day in a way that feels authentic and effortless. From the bride’s quiet moments of preparation to the laughter and joy shared during the speeches and the fun on the dance floor, every moment can be captured without interruption or forced poses.

An Unforgettable Experience

In conclusion, Silchester Farm is the perfect venue for couples who want a relaxed and joyful wedding experience, with photography that reflects the natural flow of the day. The venue’s stunning outdoor spaces, rustic yet elegant barns, and the abundance of natural light create a beautiful, stress-free environment for capturing authentic moments. With its laid-back charm and romantic countryside setting, Silchester Farm offers an unforgettable backdrop for relaxed wedding photography, where real emotions and connections shine through in every image.

I've lived on the South Coast in Hampshire all my life. I have been married since 2005 & in June 2019 we become proud parents to our amazing little boy Jonah! Besides photography, I absolutely love music! From chilling out to Bon Iver or head banging to Pearl Jam; it plays a big inspirational part in my photography life. When i'm not watching 'Hey Duggee' I love being absorbed in a good movie with a cracking Thomas Newman or Hans Zimmer soundtrack.

I love exploring new places & have always been taken back by beautiful landscapes. Tall trees or Cornish coastlines give me a great sense of calm. Iceland is definitely on the bucket list!

Photographer, artist, father, inspired by music, a well made flat white light, and you.
